a completed application
a dated and signed civil applicant waiver
a passport-size photo
copies of forms of identification such as a United States passport or copy of both your social security card and driver's license
security guard exam with a score of 100%
fingerprints through an electronic submission medium

Applicants for unarmed security guards can expect their application to take approximately ten days to receive and approve. Processing fees range from $85-$129 depending on how fingerprints are submitted and if applicants wish to expedite the process.

Armed Security Guard Card Requirements in Nevada

In order to become an armed security guard in Nevada, applicants must have a registration card and have passed a security guard exam with a score of 100%. Since they'll be using a gun, additional firearms training is also mandated. After firearms training has been successfully completed under a certified instructor, a firearm certification card is given. This card is valid for five years and requires passing a firing range test with a score of 75% or greater every six months.
